Shred It and Forget It.

Community Shred Day.

Destroy Your Sensitive Documents

Help protect your identity by safely destroying unwanted sensitive documents.

The winter months can be long and you probably have a stack of papers ready for shredding (I know my mom does!). The good news is, you won't have to wait much longer to get rid of them! Our friends at Adirondack Mobile Shredding will be on-site, to shred your personal papers, safely and securely. It's free of charge and open to the community. Check out the details below...

Here's the Skinny:

When is Shred Day?

Saturday - April 24th, 2021

Where do I go?

Plattsburgh Main Branch - 274 Rugar Street

What time does it start?

9:00 am - 12:00 pm (or until Truck is full)

How much does it cost?

It's completely free, but we will be accepting donations for Camp Ta Kum Ta in exchange for this free service.

The event is open to the community and costs you nothing!

Safety Precautions

We're taking measures to offer a safe, no-contact service at our Community Shred Day; therefore, we ask that you bring your shredding in the trunk or cargo area of your vehicle and remain inside at all times. We will be setup in the parking lot behind our building and our team will be on-hand to remove the shredding from your vehicle. Please follow the directional signs that will be posted as it will work like a drive-thru. It can get busy, so please patient as we work through everyone. Also, drive-safely as our drive-thru is also open during this time.

There are a few restrictions to ensure that we can serve everyone.
  • Limit of 5 boxes/bags per vehicle.
    • What should you Shred? Tax returns, financial statements, voided checks, pay stubs, credit card information, old photo IDs, documents with your personal information like name, phone number, social security number, etc.

    • Unacceptable items: Batteries of any type, large metal objects, electronic devices, tissues, picture frames, hard drives, glass, ink cartridges or toner, garbage, etc.
