Visit To Peru Elementary School

Presented on April 15th, 16th, and 17th to Kindergarten, First Graders, and Second Graders

Presented on May 14th to Third Graders, Fourth Graders, and Fifth Graders

Presenters Were: Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing of UFirst FCU - Maggie Pope, Loan Officer/Marketing Representative of Peru Central School FCU.

We had over 1, 000 kits to give away to the local school.


         

May 21 2008- ID Theft session at PSUC Angell Center in the Cardinal Lounge. Jody Carpenter UFirst FCU, Investigator Jay Miner New York State Police, Diane LaVigna-Wixted, Executive Director New York Credit Union Foundation and Allison Dooney, Community Development Coordinator Credit Union Association of New York.


Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing at UFirst FCU, Melissa Mose, Coordinator of the Day Program at the Traumatic Brain Injury Center at PSUC, Kimberly Lashmet, PSUC Student, Recipent on the Community Service Scholarship, Linda Bourgeois, CEO UFirst FCU. Every year UFirst FCU gives a donation of $2,500.00 for a scholarship to help a PSUC student.


Faith Osborn Long is the Regional Director of the American Heart Association and Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing of UFirst FCU. Jody is helping with the American Heart Association as a Team Sponsor Coordinator. This picture was taken at the Go Red Day for Women to help raise money for the Heart Association on February 1, 2008. Heart Disease is the #1 cause of death in women today. Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing, delivers hats, gloves, and scarfs to Champlain Valley Family Center for the Holidays. Members and staff donate new hats, gloves, and scarfs to the center. Another community activity that UFirst FCU participates within Clinton County, NY.


Tina LeClerc, Christmas Bureau; Holly Kipp, GP Community FCU; Maggie Fournier-Pope, Peru Central School FCU, and Jody Carpenter, UFirst FCU. Together the three credit unions brought to the Christmas Bureau several new toys for the little ones in Clinton County.


 

Halloween On Safety Street

The City of Plattsburgh Recreational Center provides a safe environment for our little ones to Trick or Treat on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Crete Civic Center from 6-8pm. UFirst FCU donates a booth for the event and staff donates their time to spend handing out candy for the event. It is a great event for children of all ages.


Ginny Brady, VP of Board of Directors, Linda Bourgeois, CEO, and Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing met with Morris M. Partee, Chief Experience Officer from EverythingCU.com on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Ginny and Morris attended a seminar in Spokane, WA. Ginny was invited by the Washington Credit Union League to join a panel speaking on social media in the credit union world. Ginny is responsible the credit union's blog called,"The Boardcast" that appears on our homepage. This blog was designed to have communication between our Board of Directors and Members of UFirst Federal Credit Union.


PHS Students Visit The Credit Union
 
      
     
     
Fourteen Plattsburgh High School Students participate in Mrs. Karen Rock’s career and financial management class, including 12 who are involved in the school’s internship program, opened Share (savings) accounts at UFirst Federal Credit Union.  This provides the students with a real live experience of learning how to save money.  UFirst Federal Credit Union donated the $5.00 membership fee for each student.  The students did a tour of the credit union, learned what a credit union is, what products and services that we offer, and how a credit union is different from a bank. The Students all make their first deposits into their accounts and were given goody bags to help them start savings.

Care For Kids
The total donation from the participating local credit unions was $3,512.00

Linda Bourgeois, CEO and Jody Carpenter, Director of Marketing, and along with several other local credit union donated money for the CVPH Medical Center Pediatric Unit. Local credit union raise money by selling stuffed animals during the year. This year UFirst FCU donated a total of $650.00.
